What is Life Coaching?

Have you ever wished that there was someone who could help you figure out how to solve a problem? Have you ever been wrestling with a situation and wished there was a professional listener who could give you space to sort out your thoughts?

What you’re looking for is a Life Coach! Life Coaching is a collaborative problem-solving modality where a professional coach holds space for you and guides you.

So what does a session look like? In a typical session, I invite you to tell me about what’s on your mind. You can tell me about yourself, your life, and the problems you want to solve. I listen, give you my full attention, and affirm and validate you. I ask questions to help us dig deeper into any underlying issues, and to help you identify different paths you could take to address your problem. By the end of the session, you should have an insight, a takeaway, or an action item.

Even one coaching session can make a big difference, but most people get the maximum benefit from working with me for about a month, meeting once a week for 4 or 5 weeks in a row.

I know that coaching works because I have benefitted from it myself! As an adult, I struggled to work through a few situations from my past that were impacting my wellbeing. I tried lots of different modalities, but nothing ever felt right for me. Seeing a Life Coach was the best decision I ever made!

I loved the way my coach listened to me and made me feel validated, affirmed, and important. I appreciated that I felt safe to tell her anything, but there was no pressure to tell her everything; if I didn’t want to share something, that was okay. I especially loved that every session resulted in a new insight, new understanding of my situation, or an action I could take to make my life better.

I love how Life Coaching inspires action. I believe that you know what’s best for you, and in most cases, I believe that deep down, you know the answers to your problems. My goal is to create a safe space for you to unburden yourself, talk through what’s troubling you, discover the underlying causes, and identify what you can do to begin moving forward. My job is to hold space and ask the right questions so that you can take ownership of your own thriving.

And that’s the heart of my purpose: helping others thrive.
